Tools/Ingredients Required

  • Gumpaste
  • Rose petal veiner
  • Rose petal cutter
  • 26 g floral wire
  • Sugarin English Rose and Yellow dust
  • Black or Red Magic gel color
  • ‘000’ size and some other brushes
  • Ball tool
  • Rolling Pin
  • Foam Pad
  • Water

Making the Flower Petals

1. Take a small portion of the gumpaste and roll it thin using a rolling pin.
2. Using the smooth side of the rose petal cutter, cut petal shapes by pressing the smooth side of the surface to the spread gumpaste.
3. Using the smooth side of the rose petal cutter, cut petal shapes by pressing the smooth side of the surface to the spreadBy repeating  the same steps, make 3 big petals and 2 smaller ones. Cover them and keep them aside until further use. gumpaste.
 
 

Preparing the Flower Stems

1. To make sausages, use 26g wire and a small portion of the gumpaste to make a thin sausages
2. Repeat the process to make 5 sausages. Cover and store them until further use.

 

The Detailing

1. Apply a small amount of water to 3/4th portion of the petals. Do be careful to not add too much water. Place one petal on the veiner and then place the prepared sausage on top as show in the picture.
2. Apply slight pressure to get the proper veining.
3. Repeat the process for all the five petals and allow it to dry completely.

 

A touch of colour

1. Place the petals on a foam pad and apply small amount of cornflour to the petals.Using the ball tool thin down the edges of the petals.
2. Sugarin English rose petal dust and a dry brush, apply the colour as per your preferences to create a shaded effect.
3. To give more detailing, use yellow colour to shade the inner part of the petals. Repeat the process for all petals.
4. Place the petals on a foam pad and apply small amount of cornflour to the petals.Using the ball tool thin down the edges of the petals.

 

Drawing Veins

1. Use Black Magic Colour and a size 000 brush to paint the veins of the flowers. The colour can be modified as per preferences. Repeat the step for 1 big and 2 small petals.
2. Take a small petal and place it to the right of the big petal. Roll the green tape slightly to cover both the stems.
3. Now place one small petal to the left of the big petal and ensure that both overlap the big petal.
4. Place another big petal under the small petal on the left as shown.
5. Finally place the last big petal under the big and small petals as shown in the picture.
6. Continue rolling the green wire till the end of the sausage to complete the arrangement. The pansy flower should now look like this.

 

Making a Bouquet of Pansies

Follow the same steps to make as many pansies as you want and arrange them in vase to complete “The Pretty Pansies Bouquet”
