If I were a dress designer, I would’ve made the blingiest dresses ever. Since I can’t make dresses, I put that bling in my cakes” adds Seema. Making Silver Sequins
Step 1
Knead cmc powder with fondant to make it firmer. Roll the fondant to about 2 mm thickness and let it dry for 5 minutes. Use round piping nozzle number 6 and cut out circles.
Step 2
Use a sharp tool to remove the fondant circles from the piping nozzle. Cut out as many circles as possible.
Step 3
Apply water on the surface of the cake. Use a pointed tool and gently prick in the center of each sequins. This helps the sequins to stick to the modelling tool and also make an indent in the center of each sequin giving it a natural look.
Step 4
Arrange the sequin in the order that you want them to be placed on the cake. Let it dry for a few hours.
Step 5
Paint the sequins silver using silver dust with baker’s thinner.
