Woodland Friends
An exciting woodland themed cake showcases three little racoons dazed by an autumn breeze, who are in search of a cozy cave amidst shrubs and scrub to settle in before the harsh winter hits.

Tools Required
- 5-6, 8-inch round cakes
- Chocolate ganache
- Fondant
- Serrated knife
- Knife
- Air brush machine
- Air brush colours – brown & moss green
- Aluminium foil
Cake Carving
Step 1
Bake 5-6, 8-inch round cakes and freeze them.
Step 2
Prepare chocolate ganache in advance and set it aside.
Step 3
Level and torte the cakes using a serrated knife. Stack the cakes with the desired filling.
Step 4
Cover the cake with the ganache and smoothen it.
Step 5
Carve out a small cave at the bottom part of the cake, as shown.
Step 6
Make holes and cuts of different sizes randomly around the cake for a rocky hill look..
Step 7
Crumb coat the inside of the cave, the holes and the cuts with the ganache.
Step 8
Take the leftover cake and place it on top of the cake to enhance the rocky hill look.
Step 9
Cover more of the cake with the crumbs as shown.
Step 10
Place the crumbs on the inner walls of the cave as well. Secure these crumbs with a layer of ganache.
Step 11
Roll out light brown coloured fondant using a rolling pin, wide enough to cover the cake. Cover the cake with the fondant. Press a piece of crumpled aluminium foil on the fondant to create a natural texture.
Step 12
Colour the cake in dark brown with an airbrush machine.
Step 13
Cut out the fondant covering the mouth of the cave.
Step 14
Add some green colour for moss effect with an airbrush.
Make spider webs with royal icing a day before and allow it to harden. Make various fondant accents like mushrooms, rocks, trees and leaves to place of the cake.
